Mediamac, based in Singapore, is a computer component manufacturer. One of the products they manufacture is a mobile cart cleaning station, which is used to clean hard disk cassette racks. They chose to implement a Unitronics Vision1040 programmable logic controller with an integrated 10.4-inch color-touch HMI panel with a keypad. This all-in-one design was beneficial to Mediamac as it allowed them to save space, save production costs and reduce cart space so that it was less intrusive on the manufacturing floor. Teo Kim Ann explains “Using the all-in-one was great to offer a nice-looking machine, with an attractive color-touch display while taking up little space.” The simple, single environment programming software also helped save time creating the application.
